Dr. Doron Amir, MD is a cardiovascular specialist in Bridgeport, CT and has been practicing for 34 years. He graduated from Tel Aviv University, Sackler School of Medicine in 1986.

Dr. Shannon N. Mohabir completed his medical school training at Nova Southeastern University: College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL while also completing a Masters of Biomedical Sciences and a Masters in Disaster and Emergency Management with a focus in public health.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL, and has a particular interest in cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, nutrition, and exercise physiology.
Luis Rojas obtained a nursing undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in Newark NJ in 1998 and graduated with a family nurse practitioner degree from Rutgers Graduate School in 2000.
He moved to Connecticut in 2001 and has been blessed to be a part of the Bridgeport community since.
In 2017, Luis graduated with a Doctor in Nursing Practice from Sacred Heart University, Fairfield CT. He then joined Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists and has enjoyed the journey to grow as a provider in a very supportive environment.
Shaneika is Board certified Nurse Practitioner committed to providing quality care and maintaining direct lines of communication with patients and the entire healthcare team. Superb interpersonal and leadership skills. More than 7 years in nursing and healthcare.

Janice Tavares is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, graduate of Fairfield University, with over 9 years of nursing experience. She was welcomed to Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists as a primary care provider in 2019.
Janice prouds herself on treating every patient as a whole, with the most essential component being compassion and listening. Every visit is met with a comprehensive exam and a tailored treatment plan. She values the relationship formed with every patient, and believes that is the key to improved health.
In 2020, she received recognition from the city of Bridgeport and the Dominican-American Coalition for her contributions to the community as a Spanish-speaking provider. On her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family, exercising and reading.
Jean-A’Layn is an ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and graduate from the 1st cohort Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP): Family Nurse Practitioner program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. She has an extensive background as an Emergency Department RN with expertise in trauma, triage, and direct patient care of adult, geriatrics, and pediatric populations.
Her previous education, from Sacred Heart University, is specialized in Clinical Nurse Leadership (CNL) for which she holds a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a sub-focus in pre-medical studies. She is currently writing a manuscript for her DNP project titled “Implementing A Nurse-Initiated Screening and Assessment Tool for Human Trafficking in the Emergency Department (ED): An Evidence-based Practice – Quality Improvement Project.”
Jean-A’Layn is originally from Milford, CT and has traveled much during her childhood as part of a military family. She enjoys spending time with family, bringing out her creative side with arts & crafts, and traveling during her free time.
Shanda is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of Nursing experience with extensive cardiac focus and co-piloted opening a heart failure clinic.
Shanda graduated from Maryville University and Pennsylvania State University.
Jacqueline Velez is a board-certified adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. She completed her Bachelor of Science at Fairfield University and then earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education at Western Governors University. She then completed a post-master’s certificate program at Western Connecticut University obtaining her adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner certificate.
Later, she completed the year-long residency program with the Connecticut Veterans Administration nurse practitioner primary care residency program.
Jacqueline has extensive, 13-year experience as a registered nurse in acute and critical care hospital setting.
